The girls finally got their first taste of real food. We’re doing something called “baby-led weaning” which basically means skipping the purees and going straight to “real” food. Their first “meal” consisted of avocado, broccoli, cucumber, and carrots. Their second, toast, oatmeal fingers, and mango. They had their first grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner tonight, along with pita bread and more avocado.
Of course, they’re not really eating these things, just gumming them and checking them out. It’s been a lot of fun.

Oh my I need to read about baby-led weaning!
Please post more about this! I am so interested to see how they do with it and how yall do it! We are doing purees but Id be interested in this, I am just afraid of Emma taking too large of a bite and choking. This is really neat and I love the pictures!
Yum! We did this with Maggie and were soooo glad. I think her first food was chicken. She has been our best eater of the three and will eat anything. Those girls are so sweet:-)
We did BLW too and it was fantastic. So much more natural and so fun to watch them experimenting! You got some great pictures! Enjoy!
Fun, fun pix!! Need a hug refill!! Love you!
I love seeing their sweet faces experimenting with the different foods.
